Turn a paper scoresheet into a reviewed game

Over-the-board games are the ones that matter most for rated players — and they live on paper. Take a photo of your scoresheet, check the moves we read, and step through the game with the engine and the coach.

How it works

  1. Photograph the scoresheet

A straight-on photo in good light works best. The photo is shrunk on your phone before upload.

  2. We read the moves

An AI vision model reads the notation, and only legal moves are kept, so a misread move stops the game instead of corrupting it.

  3. Review and learn

Step through the game in the Classroom, ask why, and send it to Review for a full engine check.

What you get

  • Handwritten notation in English algebraic
  • Only legal moves are accepted — you see exactly where reading stopped
  • Works from the Classroom’s “Load a game” sheet

Questions

How accurate is the reading?
Clear, straight-on photos read well; messy handwriting can stop part-way. Any move that isn’t legal stops the import so you can fix it.
Is it free?
Photo reading has a small daily allowance (1 a day as a guest, 5 when signed in).

Free to use — no sign-up needed to start.
