Terms of Service — Shogi Chess AI

Effective date: 1 October 2026 Operator: Manoj Kumar, Beside Varthaksangam, Kodad, Telangana 508206 (“we”, “us”)

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and AI & Engine Disclaimer, which form part of this agreement. You must be 18 or older, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. If you use the service for a child, you accept these Terms on their behalf.

2. The service

Training tools for chess players: an AI classroom, game review with chess engines, opponent scouting, study plans, play against the computer, and related features. Features may change or be discontinued. Free use of AI, voice, photo reading and full-game reviews is subject to fair-use limits shown in the app.

3. Accounts

  • Provide accurate information and keep credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • One account per person; do not share accounts or misrepresent identity.
  • We may suspend accounts for breach, fraud, abuse, or inactivity [after notice where reasonable].

4. Paid features

The service is free to use. Pro is an optional subscription that raises daily usage allowances (the current allowances and prices are on the Pricing page).

  • Pro renews automatically each month or year until you stop it in Settings → Plan. Payments are processed by Razorpay under its terms; we never see your card or UPI details.
  • Pro allowances are for one person's own use (fair use). We may change allowances or prices for future periods with notice; a change never affects a period you have already paid for.
  • Cancellations and refunds follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Taxes may apply.
  • From time to time we give free periods of Pro, for example with a promotional code. A free period is for the person who redeems it, has no cash value, needs no payment details and never renews or charges anything: when it ends, the account simply returns to the free plan. We may end a promotion at any time, and may withdraw a free period obtained by misuse, such as sharing a code beyond its intended audience or making several accounts to claim one.

5. Acceptable use and fair play

You agree not to:

  • Use engines or outside assistance in games, tournaments, or challenges designated as unassisted, or to manipulate ratings.
  • Harass, abuse, or stalk other users; post hateful, sexual (especially involving minors), or unlawful content.
  • Upload content you have no right to share; infringe IP.
  • Attempt to breach security, scrape at abusive scale, or disrupt the service or other users' play.
  • Use the service for unlawful activity of any kind.

We may warn, restrict, or ban accounts that breach this section, and void affected results or ratings.

6. User content

You keep ownership of content you upload (PGN files, photos, messages). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display it to operate the service (including sending positions/photos to AI providers for analysis features). Do not upload anyone else's personal data without permission. To report infringing content, contact ravi.sleepnow@gmail.com or utthamchess@gmail.com.

7. Intellectual property

The app, branding, lessons, and AI-generated coaching presentation are ours or our licensors' (including open-source components used under their licences — see in-app notices). You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the service; no copying, resale, or reverse-engineering except as permitted by law or licence.

8. Third-party services

Lichess, Google, AI providers, and payment processors operate under their own terms. Engine evaluations and cloud services depend on availability outside our control (see AI & Engine Disclaimer).

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, availability, and fitness for a particular purpose. Training content is educational, not professional advice.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or INR 1,000 if you paid nothing). We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost ratings, or third-party actions.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time (account menu → Delete account, or write to ravi.sleepnow@gmail.com or utthamchess@gmail.com). We may suspend or terminate for breach, with refund handling per the Refund & Cancellation Policy where applicable.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts at Suryapet, Telangana having jurisdiction. We will first try to resolve any dispute by good-faith negotiation within 30 days.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in the app or by email and take effect on the stated date. Continued use after that date means acceptance.
